[TR] Post September SOTP

I’ve been doing really well this month. It’s always a good sign when I manage reqs without really even trying, and that’s been the case this month. I guess I’m a little worried that when my life stops being so stagnant, that I might begin to struggle with so many pups, but the voices are all so strong right now that I’m in a good place right now. I'll deal with that hurdle when I come to it. I've also noticed that with the way things have changed at work, I've been able to do less tagging there, even on the weekends. I'm not sure when/if this will change in the near future, but it's something that I figured I should tell everyone about.

GEORGE SANDS

What's been happening:
George hasn’t done much this month. He and Nina found out that the baby's a girl (there is so much adorableness in the future, that I can't stand it), but beyond that... nada. He's probably been back and forth with being really ~concerned and worried and doing crap like making Nina breakfast with all of the essential vitamins a baby book he found on the shelf says she needs and like, still feeling a little guilty about everything. It's weird because he DOES care about Nina a lot— he did super early in their relationship— and there's a part of him that wants to try and pursue a relationship, but it's not really considerate to think about all that when there's so much else going on and when he doesn't feel like he's wholly moved on from Rahne (it seems like it's been a lot longer, but it's really only been three months.)

He's taking a few classes again this term, though he's dropped Russian, because he was really only taking it for a refresher, since he already spoke it in canon (though it was a basic.) He's taking a semester's break from teaching Italian, because as awkward and unsettled as things are between him and Nina, he wants to be able to devote his attentions to baby stuff. (Plus, the only two people to take Italian last semester were Rahne and Sookie, so there's that.)

What I've got planned:
Mitchell and Sookie have a bit of plot coming up, and it's not going to start to directly effect George for a bit, but eventually, it has the potential to cause a bit of a rift in his friendship with Mitchell. I'm not sure exactly how it's going to play out, but we'll see how things go. There's also a chance that Rahne won't be long for the island, and even though there's been nothing but awkwardness between the two of them since Nina showed up, that could be a pretty big deal as well, if it goes down. So I guess that most of what's happening with George over the next few months is up in the air and depends a lot on what happens with his friends. Baby Pickering-Sands also needs a name, and it's been driving me CRAZY.

Requests: The usuals, Sookie, since it's been a while, more Aidan and Josh (obvs, but mostly since his thread with Josh got dropped), and maybe Scripps again (since I was lame and dropped that thread).

FRED BURKLE

What's been happening:
For a little while, I was worried about Fred. I guess because I feel like I've been dropping the ball some, characterization-wise, but then I have to remember that I'm pretty much playing a canon Sue. Anyone who says Fred ISN'T a Sue is LYING. I've come to grips with that now, and I think the revelation has made me a lot more comfortable with how I've been playing her.

Fred's actually taking courses at the island school this term, mostly relevant to trying to get back home. She's also got weaponry, which I think is a logical thing for her to do, given that she's well aware of how unpredictable the island is, and I'm sure she's tired of not being able to defend herself as well as she'd like. In the past month, she ALSO very nearly kissed Jason Stackhouse, but then it didn't happen, so now she's not entirely sure whether or not she was reading things wrong or what.

What I've got planned:
I've got a few plot ideas for Fred, which mostly involve writing up a few plot proposal or two. I really just need to get off my ass and write them. Fred tends to be easy to generate plot for, so I'm never horribly worried. I still need to figure out what the heck she's going to build in her engineering class, because she's not so much drawn to build something that's going to be beneficial to the island as she is something that'll help more with the whole "off the island" thing. I dont' know. I need to do some brainstorming. Other than that, she'll definitely get tossed into amusement park plot and Halloween, mostly so she can kill stuffed animals with axes. 8D She's also still got some plot with Jane F and Belle coming up sometime soon, so I don't want to plan anything big for her until after that goes down.

Requests:
Buffy, Xander and Saffron. Olivia. Other people in Walter's class, because Fred has a LOT of thoughts about multi-dimensional theories.

CHRIS MILES

What's been happening:
Hahahahah Chris was supposed to be a happy pup. These days, the idea of doing Chris tags just makes me want to weep. My poor, poor pup, I adore him so. Basically, if I thought Chris's life was shit last month, then I was way, way off the mark. So, Maxxie had a birthday, Chris threw a rave for him, and in the process, asked Claire to both come/help and they had a bit of a falling out. We're still threading it, but it's really not good. As a result, Chris did a LOT of drugs at Maxxie's birthday, confused Effy for Thalia, and Effy got the wrong idea and thinks that Chris slept with her previous incarnation. She's told Tony, and while nothing has come of it yet, there's this horrible thing waiting in the wings now. xD

So Chris is in a pretty bad way, emotionally. Yes, he's happy Chris to most everyone he knows, but he's going through some shit. It's mostly more dealing with his abandonment issues and how they relate to what's going on with Claire and his own poor sense of self-worth. Now that he's got a decent supplier on the island, yuo can assume that Chris has been off his face with nearly the same frequency as in canon. It's his coping mechanism, what can I say?

What I've got planned:
I never really plan much for Chris, to be honest. In a way, it's a lot of fun, but it also means that I generally have very little idea what's going to happen to him from one month to the next. The whole Thalia-Effy-Tony thing DEFINITELY wasn't planned, but I have a feeling that a lot of good plot can come out of it.

Requests:
CASSIE. I also SO want Chris, Tony and Maxxie just hanging around, shooting the shit and being bros at some point.

RON WEASLEY

What's been happening:
Haven't really had a whole lot of plot for Ron, which I'm actually okay with. Tossing him into powers plot has been a lot of fun, even if his threads haven't gotten too far in yet. He's also taking a few classes, mostly for something to do, so they're all classes with the least amount of outside work possible. xD

What I've got planned:
Most of what's on the horizon for Ron hinges on other people, so he's a little up in the air right now. Hoverbrooms are still somewhere in the future, Hermione's finding Crookshanks sometime in the not too distant future, and I think Ron's scheduled to have another encounter with Draco over an offensive tee-shirt. So whenever any of that goes down, he'll be there. I'm also sort of vaguely considering a timeloop, so if I manage to work out the details, relevant parties can expect emails. (I honestly JUST came up with this.)

Requests:
Anyone in any of his classes (Surfing, Film Appreciation), Kate, Luna.

GRACE VIOLET

What's been happening:
Grace also hasn't had a lot of plot. She's really, really homesick, and she's dancing again, which is kind of compounding her homesickness in a way. She's taking a bunch of classes (though her two favorite have been invaded by Tony Stonem :E). Any of her teachers can expect that she's an above-average, exceptional student, especially because she's mostly taking her two literature classes for fun. She's likely read all of the material for both.

What I've got planned:
Not TOO much. I'm considering an item for her soon, but I may just wait until canon starts up again, because I'm sure I'll get something in January that I'll want to use (and I won't want to wait until March for it.) I really want to do some playing around with character and identity with Grace sometime soon. I figure maybe she'll take on a character for a week or so and say it's character work for her acting class. 8D She's also got her 18th birthday coming up next week, and I think I'll probably EP her, if only because she'll probably end up being super down as a result of it.

Requests:
Kurt Hummel. Effy and Tony Stonem. Anybody in any of her classes, especially ballet and acting.

NATHAN YOUNG

What's been happening:
Nathan has no plot. Nathan needs no plot. I think I've come to grips with the fact that Nathan's just going to be that way for a while, maybe for as long as I play him. Tossing him into speed dating was one of the best things I've done with him so far, and I've been having a lot of fun with it. I've been slacking a bit when it comes to making some solid connections for him on the island, and this is definitely a step in the right direction. I got my last canon that I'm potentially ever gonna get for Nathan, so he's been a little loud lately. It's a good thing and a bad thing, because I've got a bit of closure and I don't have to worry about canon puncture, but then again, I've got no new canon to draw from for anything.

He signed up for women's self defense (and I tagged into that post a little late, but he's here if anyone wants to go back and tag him/make fun of him) , and that was a disaster, of course.

What I've got planned:
Came up with an item for Nathan, but I might stretch it out a while longer before I actually give it to him. He's also pretty ideal for a timeloop (the nature of his canon will make it kind of an awesome thing to work with), so I'm considering that as well. Timeloop will likely come first. Any takers on tagging along?? 8DD He'll also very likely be tossed into Halloween, because there's nothing more awesome than Nathan running from danger and freaking out and generally being a coward about everything. I also have a couple of EP ideas that involve generally being a dick with no respect for social boundaries, and there's a chance Nathan could maybe get locked up for a bit because of it, depending on how far he pushes things. I don't know, it just seems wrong that he's been around a few months and hasn't REALLY gotten under anyone's skin the way he should.

Requests:
Anybody, everybody. I'm actually looking for suggestions when it comes to Nathan.

HANK MCCOY

What's been happening:
I'm feeling a lot better when it comes to Hank's voice. While I'm pretty sure that the decision to keep him mostly lab-bound for the first bit of his time on the island was a good decision characterization-wise, it stunted me a bit when it came to getting him a bit settled on the island. Or maybe I'm just being super self-conscious about my overall characterization of Hank, I don't know. Either way, I'm pretty sure he's a pup like Ron, where it's going to take me a bit before I feel like I've got a decent handle on him. I'm sure that there being so many other Marvels on the island is a contributing factor to my worry over how I play him, and it's just a hurdle to get over, I suppose. I'm also leaning more and more towards the idea of giving Hank the same knowledge base as in comic canon. I'd been hesitant just because I hate assuming when I don't he to, but I think that the few glimpses that we get in X-Men: First Class might be enough to go on. I mean, I can guess that he has a solid literature background by the way he and Charles analyze Stevenson, and I can guess that he knows Spanish (and very likely Latin), but it's assumptions beyond all that, I suppose.

Tossing him into powers plot was a good idea, I think, because depending on how some of these threads go, there's a decent chance someone's going to get a glimpse at his deformity (though, he's definitely going to try to write it off to island interference. And also: BANSHEE. 8D
In other news, he's finally satisfied that there aren't any remnants of his mutation left genetically, and while he hasn't COMPLETELY given up on he idea of becoming what he considers "normal," he's not going to be as obsessive about it for a while and will be moving on to other projects. He's also taking a few island classes, and to clarify, he's taking Intro to Computers only because he's from the 1960s. xD

What I've got planned:
Of course, there's the question of just what Hank's projects will actually BE, I suppose. I've been a bit stumped, and I'm still trying to work through it and find something not only feasible on the island, but that someone else hasn't come up with. I guess my ultimate goal is at least some kind of X-copter (which needs a better name) mostly for inter-island transport, but I'd have to figure out where the raw materials would come from. For now, I'll let it stay mostly conceptual, because Hank should ideally be working on like 5 projects all at once. He still really, really wants to study Tony Stonem's DNA, and I think maybe I'll come up with something he can do down/with Rapture, since that's still down there.
X-House is somewhere on the horizon, and there are no words for how much Hank is looking forward to the possibility of having his own lab again.

Requests:
More X-people! Rachel Gray again. More Jessica, now that there's just the one of her. More science people. Pretty girls Hank can be awkward around.

THE FUTURE

Potentials:
Troy Barnes (Community)

Well, this was unexpected. I guess maybe not COMPLETELY, since I've had a journal for Troy for the better part of a year, but he was never a serious possibility until recently. After I realized that I had already come up with five different plots (Treehouse of Awesome and Serenity Season 2 among other things) and a couple of potential items for Troy, I figured it was time to shift the queue a little bit. I've got his app started, so I really just need to sit down and power through it. Maybe tomorrow (or whenever I manage to empty my inbox again.) I'm fairly sure he'll be coming from "Intermediate Documentary Filmmaking," but there's definitely an urge to bring him from his birthday episode.

Tyrion Lannister and Eric Northman are definitely not out of the queue. I just need to do some reading before I feel comfortable with the idea of apping either (and some canon rewatching in Eric's case.) Laura Kinney has also jumped back on the radar, now that I've caught up on X-23. Considering how many times I've NEARLY apped her and then didn't, I should probably just go for it. Her app's pretty much done and sitting in my googledocs, and all that's left of it is the debut post. Though, I'd have to tweak the inventory, because I'll likely change the exit point.
